A Luxury Affair with Kunafa ✨

There’s something beautifully poetic about firsts, especially when they arrive a little later than expected yet feel perfectly timed. At 36, I didn’t just taste my first Kunafa pistachio bar, I experienced it. As a food blogger, I’ve explored countless flavors, textures, and stories plated on dishes. But this one? This wasn’t just dessert, it felt like a quiet dream unfolding. The moment I unwrapped it, there was a subtle elegance. No loud introduction, no dramatic garnish, just a promise. One bite in and everything changed. The delicate crunch of golden kunafa strands gave way to the richness of pistachio, smooth, nutty, almost velvety. It wasn’t overly sweet, it wasn’t trying too hard, it simply was. What made it even more special? It wasn’t something I bought for myself. It came as a gift, unexpected, slightly mysterious, carrying that unspoken warmth only a thoughtful gesture holds. And maybe that’s why it tasted even better, because sometimes flavors are not just on your tongue, b...

"Korean Garlic bread recipe"

Korean garlic bread, also known as "Korean cream cheese garlic bread," is a popular street food and snack in South Korea. It features a soft bread roll filled with a mixture of garlic, cream cheese, and other ingredients, then coated with a sweet and savory garlic butter glaze. Here's a basic recipe to give you an idea of how it's made:

Ingredients:

  1. 4 to 6 soft bread rolls
  2. 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  3. 100 grams (3.5 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  4. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  5. 1 tablespoon sugar
  6. 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  7. 1 tablespoon milk
  8. 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
  9. Pinch of salt

For the garlic butter glaze:

  1. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. 1 tablespoon honey or corn syrup
  3. 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, cream cheese, melted butter, sugar, mayonnaise, milk, chopped parsley (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined and smooth.

Make a lengthwise cut in each bread roll, without cutting all the way through. Open up the bread rolls, creating a pocket.

Stuff each bread roll with the garlic and cream cheese mixture, using a spoon or a piping bag.

In a separate bowl, prepare the garlic butter glaze by melting the butter and combining it with the honey or corn syrup and minced garlic. Mix well.

Brush the garlic butter glaze generously over the filled bread rolls, making sure to cover the tops and sides.

Place the bread rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the filling is heated through.

Once baked, you can brush some more of the garlic butter glaze on top for extra flavor.

Korean garlic bread is typically served warm. Enjoy it as a snack or side dish.

Note: This is a basic recipe, and you can customize it to your liking. Some variations include adding grated cheese on top of the garlic butter glaze or using different herbs and spices in the filling. Feel free to experiment and adapt the recipe according to your taste preferences.
